Frequently Asked Questions

What is boudoir photography?

Boudoir photography (pronounced boo-dwah or boo-dwar) is intimate photography celebrating your unique beauty and personality.

Your session can be as revealing or as modest as you want, from gorgeous lifestyle portraits to classic pinup to tasteful nudes.

Why should I have boudoir photos taken?

Do you really need a reason to have gorgeous photos of yourself?

Well if you do need a reason, here are some awesome ones:

Wedding gift for your future spouse

Anniversary present

Birthday present (for yourself, or for someone else!)

Just because! You are beautiful and deserve to have photos that show it!

What should I wear?

You should wear something that makes you feel sexy and confident. I have an extensive packing guideline that I send once you have booked. You can check out my Pinterest board for more ideas! I am always available to help with wardrobe prior to your session.

Who do you photograph? Do you photograph couples?

I photograph people. I am LGBTQ+ friendly, and body and sex positive. As for photographing couples, yes, and more. Polyamorous relationships are also welcome here. No matter what you call your partner(s), and no matter who or how you love, I will capture what makes your relationships special. At this time, I am no longer offering sessions for single cis-gender men, but I can refer you out to another great local photographer.

What should I do to get ready for my session?

Professional hair styling and makeup are included with your boudoir session. A local professional makeup and hair artist will be on-site at the session to give you a glamorous makeover. Other services that you might consider are hair cuts or color, manicures, pedicures, massage, facial and/or body hair removal. I will send you a prep guide ahead of time!

May I bring a friend or my significant other?

Yes! You are welcome to bring a guest. While I typically recommend leaving your S.O. at home, but if it makes you feel more comfortable to have them at your session (or if they want to join in!), they are welcome to escort you.

Can I bring an alcoholic beverage to calm my nerves?

Alcohol is a liability that I cannot be responsible for. It is in my contract that clients must not have had alcohol in the 12 hours previous to their photo session. This will protect you from making any decisions during your shoot that you are unhappy with later. I will not photograph you if you are intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.

Will my photographer be a woman?

Yes, this is a woman-owned business.

How do I know that you're the right photographer my session?

You won't know for sure until you meet me; I provide free consultations where we can chat about what you want out of your session. If you decide not to hire me for your session, I can always help you find another local photographer.

What if I don't look like a model?

You don't have to look like a runway model to do a boudoir shoot. Boudoir photography is for any person, no matter your shape or size. The photos are about you and celebrating your individual beauty.

Will you edit the photos?

Skin-smoothing and blemish-removal are standard with every shoot, but more retouching can be done by request, and at an additional cost. You should still look like yourself when I am finished!

Will my photos be posted online?

Your photos are uploaded in a private, password-protected gallery for your convenience, but they are NEVER shared with others unless you give your permission. All photos on my website and social media are from shoots where the client gave me permission for posting them.

What if I don't like the photos?

I hope that you love your photos, but if you don't, I have a 100% satisfaction guarantee. I can re-shoot your session, within twelve months of your original session, with no additional session fee, or I can refund your session fee.

How will I know how to pose?

I will show you some amazingly flattering poses that you can do! I will guide you through the posing throughout your session, and make sure you look your absolute best. I make sure to capture your best angles, and help coach your expressions.

How long will it take to get my photos?

Depending on which package you order and the amount of requested retouching, it can take between 4-5 weeks for your products to arrive. Rush orders are available on a case-by-case basis.
